We are so sorry to hear of "Aunt" Wilma's passing. She was a wonderful woman and a terrific friend to our family for all these years. We wish to offer our sincere condolences to the Mikeska family during this time, she will be missed.

Wilma Mikeska, 91, died peacefully January 27, 2015. Wilma was born on October 7, 1923 in Livingston, TX. She moved to Houston in the mid 1940’s and worked as a secretary for a Bray Plumbing Supply. On January 10, 1948, Wilma married Irwin Mikeska and were married 51 years.

Wilma was a stay at home Mom until the mid 60’s. Besides taking care of the family needs, she also taught some of the neighbor lady’s how to drive as well as gave permanents and drove people to appointments. In the mid 60’s, Wilma went to work at Waddell’s Furniture Company.

Wilma always looked forward to time with family. She also loved playing dominoes, watching the Astros, Rockets and Texans and she always knew the current scores for these teams.

Wilma is preceded in death by her husband, Irwin; granddaughter, Tracy Clark; and sister, Beatrice Underwood. She is survived by sister, Bernice Collins; daughters, Donna and husband Ed Clark, Debbie Mikeska; son, David and wife Emily Mikeska; grandchildren, Kelly Clark Dunn(Rob), Laura, Bryan and Andy Mikeska; and great grandchildren, Riley and Mason Dunn. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Georgia Mae Mueller.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 30, 2015 from five until seven o’clock in the evening at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4930 West Bellfort, Houston, TX 77035. Funeral services will be held at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 31st at 11 o’clock in the morning. Graveside will be at Holy Grove Cemetery at half past three in the afternoon.
