Rodamia Helen Christie, 45, departed this life to be with the Angels on Monday, March 14, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Mia was born on May 20, 1970 in Houston, Texas. She lived her dream of being a faithful wife and devoted mother! She loved her family dearly. She also loved her extended family at Pine Shadows Elementary School. She enjoyed beautiful days working in her garden even during her extended illness which gave her strength and brought her joy.

She is preceded in death by her father-in-law James Christie and grandparents, George and Rodamia Kaldis.

She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, George Christie, their children Dimitri, Panayiotis, Evy; parents, Mary Beth Morris and her husband Bill; father Pete Kaldis and Lydia Coronado; brother George and wife, Teresa; brother Pantelis and wife, Lisa; step brother Bruce Morris and Kelley Morris; nieces and nephews, Alexandra, Johnny, Aki and his wife Autumn, Alexander, Chloe, Aleni, Callia, Lex; mother-in-law, Alexandra Christie, sister-in-law Kathy Dasigenis, husband Marko; sister-in-law Maria Christie; sister-in-law Roula Kostas and husband Tasos and their children Alexoula, Eleni, Mathew Jimmy; brother-in-law Terry Christie and fiancé Mary Shatleh; grandparents Lucille and Paul Bowers, and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Christie Family will receive family and friends on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at five o’clock in the evening with the Trisagion Service at half past six o’clock in the evening. The funeral service will be held at half past ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, March 18, 2016. Both services will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Blvd, Houston, Texas 77006. Burial will follow immediately at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as casket bearers during Friday’s services are: Zachary Morales, Peter Butos, Nick Sideris, Pete Zois, Oscar de la Rosa, Ricardo Molina, and Steve Megas.
Honorary pallbearers are: Grant Gilbert, Ryan Holder, Laurenzo Blanca, Neil Stephensen, and JR Garza.

The family would like to acknowledge the incredible and compassionate care provided by Dr. Yvonne Kew and her staff, Dr. Manoj Bhardwaj, Dr. Rishi Bhardwaj, Dr. Teresa Kaldis, Dr. Bin Teh, the entire staff at Methodist Hospital neurosurgery floor and Houston Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mia’s name be made to AGOC Benevolent Fund, c/o Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Blvd, Houston, Texas, 77006.
