Michael P. Shea died on February 9, 2015. Survived by his adoring wife, Elizabeth Shea, children Cristian, Nicolas, Adrienne, and Brooks and 8 grandchildren as well as many wonderful friends.
A long time international investment banker, Mr. Shea was born and lived in New York City until moving to Houston in 2006.
Mr. Shea graduated from Cranwell Preparatory School, Georgetown University, and Fordham Law School – Jesuit schools all!!! During the course of his career, Mr. Shea was a principal in the firm of Kidder, Peabody & Co., President of Campbell Shea International, Director of U.S. Affairs for LAN Chile, S.A., President of Barrington International Hotels, Inc., Croatia Hotels and Resorts, d.o.o., JB Coal to Methane, L.L.C. and others. Mr. Shea served on numerous boards and was a member of the Heisman Trophy Committee.
Mr. Shea proudly served in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the Republic of South Vietnam in 1968, attaining the rank of Captain and where he received several decorations including the Bronze Star and several from the Army of the Republic of South Vietnam. His experience in the military was meaningful to him and his thoughts often turned to friends remembered on The Wall in Washington who he visited from time to time.
Contributions, if desired, may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church. A memorial mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at St. Anne, 2040 Westheimer Road, Houston Texas, 77019. Honorary pallbearers are Lovell Aldrich, Mike Clann, Beau Egert, Jesse Jenckes, Sterling McDonald, Mike Moore, Don Patteson, and Odis Peavy.
