Marion Buchanan Ball, 84, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at The Methodist Hospital - Emergency Room. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 25, 1929 to Charles Ray Buchanan and Anne Spear.

Marion went to Southern Methodist University for her undergraduate studies and the University of Houston for postgraduate work. She served in many charitable leadership positions, including Houston Museum of Natural Science Guild - President; Houston Museum of Fine Arts - Gala Co-Chairman; Harris County Heritage Society - Restoration Chairman and Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens - Docent.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lewis E. Ball II and her family of friends associated with golf in general and the Houston Country Club. She was a past member of the Rules Committee and passed rules examinations given by the Rules Committee and the US Golf Association. She visited and played Cypress Point as part of the successful rules test award.

A memorial celebration will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer, with Rev. William Denham leading the service. A reception following will be held at a location announced at the service.
In lieu of flowers, your memorial gifts may be made to your favorite charity , St. Luke's Methodist Church Foundation, or Houston Museum of Natural Science.
