I offer sincere condolences and share a prayer with the family of Louise Pearson, may she rest in peace. I arise today Through the strength of heaven: Light of the sun, Radiance of the moon, Splendor of Fire, Speed of lightning, Swiftness of wind, Depth of Sea, Stability of earth, Firmness of Rock. I arise today Through God's strength to pilot me: God's might to uphold me, God's wisdom to guide me, God's eye to look before me, God's word to speak for me, God's hand to guard me, God's shield to protect me, and God's host to save me, May you be comforted through this time by precious memories, your faith, shared kindness and God's mercy. With Sincere Prayers,

Louise Kling Pearson, 71, died Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Methodist Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she dedicated her life to helping other people. Born on July 10, 1944 in Big Spring, Texas to Margaret Anne and Harold Peter Kling, Louise was raised in Roswell, New Mexico. From an early age, she worked at the family’s pharmacy, which served many of Roswell’s working-class and low-income residents.

After graduating from Roswell High School, she became the first in her family to attend college, graduating from the University of Colorado in 1966 with a degree in business. She then moved to Dallas, where she enjoyed many years working at the BBDO advertising agency. It was also there, on a blind date, that she met a young Naval aviator who would become her husband of 43 years. After living in Austin, where she worked to help pay for his law school tuition and expenses, and San Diego, she and Ralph J. Pearson, Jr. moved to Houston in 1977 to raise their family.

Louise was active in a number of community and volunteer organizations. She was a proud member of the Delta Gamma sorority and of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She served as the president of the West University Little League Auxiliary and on the board of the Lighthouse for the Blind.

Louise is survived by her husband Ralph, her son John Park Pearson, her daughter-in-law Melissa Coe Edwards Pearson, and her granddaughters Katherine Louise and Margaret. Survivors also include her mother Margaret Anne Kling Kincaid, her brother John Kling, and Brandon Behrens, her son in all but name.

A visitation will be held at Bradshaw Carter funeral home from four to seven o’clock p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2016. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s at eleven o’clock a.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cowboy Bell Scholarship Fund, at http://fumc-roswell.org/cowboy-bell.
