Our prayers are with your family and children. Have so many fond memories of Laurie at St. Anne's, Lamar HIgh School, and just growing up in Houston. We will miss you Laurie! The Strellers

Susie and Steve Streller, Houston, TX

To Laurie's dear family and friends - our heart breaks for you, and for the loss of Laurie. May her kindness, love, and spirit will be with you always. Love and sympathy,

Sara, Seth, and CJ Hinkley, Houston, TX

I will always remember seeing Laurie in the carpool line at AOS. We would get out of our cars and stand in the grass laughing and having a great time. She would have Adam on her hip. Laurie had a marvelous sense of humor, was kind, and so loyal to all of her friends. She made the world a happier place, and I will forever remember her with a great big contagious smile! My love and compassion go out to her sweet children.

Kate Hughes and family, Houston, Tx

Please accept our deepest sympathy at this sad time. Laurie was always a kind, witty, fun and loving friend to all. She will always be remembered for the great humor and warmth she brought to our carpool days! We will keep her family in our thoughts and prayers. With all our love,

Guy, Clare and Mary Catherine Jackson, Houston, Texas

Lots of fun memories during the AOS days....Laurie had a huge heart and loved her children so much! Her sense of humor will be missed. Our condolences go out to the entire family

Laurie was loved by many of us 'AOS Moms'. Her friendship was genuine, and we truly enjoyed her laughter and wit. My fondest memories were of the AOS carpool we shared. Lots of great memories. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Laurie's family at this time. April Konopka

Laura “Laurie” Stokes Leven, 50, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in Houston, Texas.

Laurie’s greatest pleasure in life were her children and spending time with loved ones at the beach. She loved the beach, both growing up at the family house in Galveston or later in life at her beach home in Matagorda, Texas. All who knew her well loved her quick witted sense of humor as well as her kindness and loyalty.

Laurie is survived by her mother Mary Aline Lindsey and father Thomas Milton Johnson of Houston; son, Andrew Leven and his wife Svetlana of New York; daughter Katy and youngest son Adam of Houston; brother Steve Johnson and wife Amanda and their children, Ford, Ava and Graham of Houston.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from one o’clock until three o’clock in the afternoon with a service beginning at a quarter past three o’clock at the Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Home, 1734 West Alabama Street in Houston.

In Lieu of usual remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to CHI St. Luke’s Health (www.chistlukeshealth.org).
