Kathy was loyal, loving, and cared deeply about her school and the children she taught. She had a magical way with the youngest children to be able to meet them on their terms. She entered every day with a laugh and a smile, and every child she touched could feel her warmth. Thank you, Kathy, for all you have done in raising the children at AOS. You will be greatly missed.

Kathy Stratas, 49, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016.

Born the 3rd of October 1966 to Mike & Mary Stratas in Houston, Texas. Beloved woman, aunt, godmother, adored teacher, cherished sister and friend. Kathy was part of the inaugural class of Annunciation Orthodox School in 1970 and continued there through the fifth grade, followed by Johnston Middle School and Bellaire High School. After graduating from Bellaire, she returned to AOS as an assistant teacher later running her own classroom and has remained an essential part of the AOS faculty over the last 29 years. Her unmistakable passion to nurture and mold, educate and enlighten those thousands of children that have crossed through her classroom will be treasured forever by both students and their parents alike. She was devoted to her AOS children as though they were her own and delighted in what she did daily. Kathy loved her family and friends with all her being, she enjoyed spending endless hours on the beach in Galveston and was an encouraging, no-nonsense, remarkable human. She was adored by many and will be missed by all.
