I very much regret this huge loss and feeling the pain his family are going through, I want to share the hope that very soon "will be a resurrection from God", as the Bible tells us in Acts 24:15. Courage and strength to all your family at this painful time. www.JW.org

Joan was a beautiful, kind, and generous woman. Her personality and attitude were delightful and optimistic. John and I were deeply saddened to learn of her passing. Our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. As the Greeks say, May her memory be eternal. We will very much miss her, too.

My deepest sympathy for the family. May the God of loyal love comfort the family during your time of sorrow. Psalms 119:76

My Wonderful Precious Mother---------- What do you say about a Mother who has given you so much? Who was always there for you with her understanding touch. She gave me a childhood right out of a storybook. To find a better Mother you wouldn't know where to look. She was room mother, mentor and bible school teacher. When you needed someone to cheer for you, she was on the bleacher. She taught me to look for the best in others and to be of kind heart. She gave me everything I needed, right from the start. So today is not good-bye, but for now, so long. I will see you again, I will try to be strong. My eternal love and devotion, your daughter, Leslie

May God's healing Grace and Peace be with Mrs. Parsons' family; may she rest among the eternal joy of God's presence.

Joan Tyree Parsons, 80, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully into God’s hands on Sunday, November 9th, 2014. Her life was a testament to her unwavering faith that guided her. With an indomitable spirit, she lived each day with gratitude and grace, enriching our lives and inspiring us.
She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 34 years, George Thomas Parsons, Jr. More than anything else, Mother loved to be with her family. She is survived by her three children: George Thomas Parsons III and his partner Gary Foy, Leslie Cottrell and her husband David Cottrell III, Christie Sullivan and her husband Mark Sullivan and his sister Susan Sullivan. She was additionally blessed with three grandchildren that gave her more joy than can be imagined. Patrick, Gray, and Sloane Sullivan always made her laugh and smile with pride.
She would also want to thank her dearest and longtime friends, Carol White, Sharon Schultz and Sue Wood. They too, are “family”. She leaves us with the knowledge that we were all truly loved.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas on Friday, November 14th, at eleven o’clock in the morning with Rev. Dr. Thomas Pace officiating. Reception and visitation following at Bradshaw-Carter, 1734 West Alabama Street. Private interment at Memorial Oaks Cemetery Mausoleum.
