My condolences to Evelyn's family and friends. I grew up with Evelyn, having gone to school with her for 12 years. We shared many classes and activities together. I am sorry for your loss.my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Frances Harless, Lake Charles, La

Evelyn and I were close friends through high and high school. I walked passed her house to and from Central School. Both being raised Catholic and in public schools we were also in catechism class together. My family remembers Evelyn as "so nice and such fun" when she was at our house during those years. However, my memories are of being in her house, a bastion of order and calm, Evelyn being considerably younger than her sister and brothers. We kept up by writing letters through the years. Evelyn was a person of grace and discipline, an extraordinary teacher, and a good friend to many. I will miss her. I send my heartfelt sympathy at this time to her family and friends.

So sad to hear of your loss. I haven't seen Evelyn since high school. But I do remember her so well. We lived just blocks away from each other growing up on Reid and Cleveland streets in Lake Charles. I can't help but think of Evelyn each and every time I drive by her childhood home. Such sweet memories of a very special person. . May the PEACE of our precious Lord be with the entire family. Gene Hay/Lake Charles

I am so very sorry to hear of Evelyn's passing. Your family is in my prayers. I lived around the corner from Evelyn and came to your house on Reid many times. We also went to school together, through high school.
