Hi, My name is Jax, I worked with Coop at HOC and even though I haven't seen Cooper in almost 10 years, I will always remember what an amazing and kind soul he was with the most amazing smile. Even though I only knew Coop for a few years, he definitely was someone I will forever remember. I am incredibly sorry for your loss and am sending all the love and positive energy in my heart to your family.

Jax McCauley, St. Catharines, Canada, On

Dear Mr and Mrs Stuart and Chrissy. I'm thinking of you and sending all my love. I only met Cooper once but he was warm, welcoming and kind (as you all are). Wishing you peace and strength during this saddest of times. Love Amy (and the Beggars Music team)

Stuart's/Jaeger's, Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. This is the second friend I have lost to soon. The only way I have found that helps me get through these tough times, is to live through them, and for them. Coop will always be an inspiration and good friend to us all. See you soon. With whole hearted love, Jan

"In Loving Memory" If everyone lived as your loved one lived, the world would be a brighter place. So Very Sorry for Your Loss

CaRae Cayman, Plymouth , MN

From the Read family, the folks at Lyons Wealth, Coop's former colleagues, and his former teammates on Lyons Hockey, we wish the Stewart family our sincerest condolences. I was lucky enough to meet Coop as our intern while he was attending Rollins College, and immediately enlisted him on our hockey squad as well. I marveled at Coop's positive attitude, politeness, and the gleam in his eyes. He always made everyone around him feel special and I don't think I ever saw him in a bad mood or down. He was a hell of a teammate in every aspect of the word. He was a very special person, so positive and fun. We are all extremely saddened by this loss.

Dearest Megan, Melinda, Tom , Taylor and Cooper's family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. We know how much Cooper loved you all and how much you loved him. Your wedding was one of the most beautiful I had ever seen . I will never forget the look in Cooper's eyes that hot day in Scottsdale. I wish I could take away your sadness and the long journey ahead of you. Know that there are many people who love you and will be with you every step of the way for love walks hand in hand with grief. " For I know the plans I have for you." Declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you . Plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11.

Penny, Alex and Marissa Helgren, Plymouth, MN

Our thoughts and prayers are being sent to you Megan, both families and the multitude of friends that Cooper has...reach out and gain strength from the love we all had for Cooper. I had a great time and fond memories this past spring when we played golf here at The Boulders...they will remain with me always. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you or yours. Larry and Jacque

Larry Kaufman and Jacque Edwards, Scottsdale, AZ

Cooper & Trudy my deepest condolences to your family. I remember the times our families shared during hockey weekends. Even though we have not seen each other for several years Cooper left a lasting impression on Skyler and I. He is a fine young man and always was a joy to be around. Again I am sorry for this tragic time. May God watch over you and your family. I know Cooper is with the Lord. God Bless you and your family

Paul Skendrovic, Arlington, Tx

Coop, You were a generous and caring friend who brought a smile everywhere you went. I enjoyed the time we spent together playing hockey and sharing laughs outside the rink. We shall all miss you dearly. Rest in peace, buddy.

Jason Oxner, Houston, TX

Coop, I was lucky enough to get to work with you every day, and am so grateful that I had the opportunity to get to know you. Your personality was infectious, and your potential limitless. It’s been incredible to get to witness you rising through the ranks at the Q, leaving a lasting legacy of friendship and deep admiration with each and every person you interacted with along the way. You inspired all of us to do better; to be better. I speak for the whole Q family when I say that we will never stop missing you, or wishing you would walk into the next team meeting and immediately participate in the latest inside joke or jab. But we are better for knowing you and believe that you’ll always be there in spirit. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Megan and all of your family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. You are one of a kind, friend, and will be forever missed.

I am shocked and profoundly saddened to read this tragic news. I cherish the memories of our years spent together in Dallas minor hockey. Megan, Cooper, Trudy and Chrissy, I am deeply sorry for your horrific loss and will keep you in my thought and prayers.

Linda Jarvis , Boston , Ma

I have only met you through hockey but during our discussions on the bench and in the dressing rooms you clearly exhibited a genuinely caring nature. I can only imagine how much of a good person you were if you breathed the same character in every aspect of your life. Of course I’ll also remember your skills and the very relaxed and humble manner in which you displayed them. My thoughts and prayers go to your friends and family.

To have a friend like you was truly a blessing. For all the memories we made and laughter we shared you will forever be in our hearts. Not a day will go by that I will not mourn your presence in our life. We have been best friends since 5th grade and the last 20 years you have been by my side through birthdays, engagements, marriage and children. We will always hold you in our hearts and in our prayers. Goodbye sweet friend until we meet again.

While I only knew Coop briefly, it was clear that he was a genuine person with an incredibly infectious personality. We had some great times together on and off the ice in Houston with the Cavemen Hockey Club. I can only imagine what your family is feeling right now and I hope that my words can provide even the slightest condolences. Sincerely, Matt

Coop, you are one of the finest fellas I have ever met, I will never forget your kindness and skill at hockey, you have scored many fine goals for the Cavemen hockey team over the years. The boys are going to miss your smile and cool demeanor in the dressing room. Till we meet again my friend, I will bring a cold pop and a hockey stick and we will share laughs once again.

To my dear old friend Cooper, Our hearts are broken to hear the news of your passing. We shared many memories during our boarding school days with your close group of friends, one being my brother Doug. You took me under your wing and showed me the ways of life at Rollins when I was seeking out colleges and you showed my dad and I the best of Dallas when I went through orientation at SMU. You had the kindest soul, Cooper. You were truly the nicest person. You will be missed dearly. A life taken way too soon. My family and I are all thinking of your family and wife. Our sincerest condolences. Katie Grabner and the Horner Family

Cooper “Coop” Birdsall Stuart, Jr., 29, passed away on June 2, 2016, in Houston, Texas.

Cooper was born on August 26, 1986 in Dallas, Texas, to Cooper and Trudy Stuart and made Houston his home with his wife for the past couple of years.

He was an adoring husband and a remarkable son, brother and friend. He was a great support for his family, finding delight in the everyday and such joy and fun in their regular adventures together. Cooper travelled the world with his family from the golf courses of Palm Springs to the polo fields of Argentina. While he loved the big adventure, he also cherished the quiet morning walks through his quaint Houston neighborhood with Sammers and Meggers.

Cooper attended Parish Day School and Shelton School in Dallas, Salisbury School in Connecticut and graduated from Rollins College in Winterpark, Florida in 2009. He became a successful executive in the energy industry in Houston. Megan and Cooper were married in the Sonoran Desert in Scottsdale, Arizona on September 26, 2015.

Coop's life involved much of the outdoors. He was a natural-born athlete, acing any and every sport he tried. He was a captain and a first-mate, with a passion for water-related sports in all forms, including ice hockey, wakeboarding, skiing and boating. He loved adventuring the streets and restaurants of his Houston neighborhood with best friend, lover, and soulmate, Megan. He also loved golfing with his guys and going on long runs while catching up with trusty playmate and dear sister, Chrissy. He was a sensitive soul who enjoyed storytelling, late-night snacking and simply holding hands all along the way with his wife.

Cooper was a man of big dreams and aspirations who will be missed greatly. His contagious laugh and thirst for life will live on in the hearts of all he knew.

Cooper is survived by his loving wife, Megan Jaeger Stuart, and their beloved dog Sammy, AKA Sammers. Cooper is also survived by his parents, Trudy and Cooper Stuart, Sr. and his sister, Chrissy; father-in-law Tom Jaeger and mother-in-law Melinda. He was the grandson of the late Spencer R. Stuart and Ed Bennett.
