Carolyn N. Wallace passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015 at two o’clock in the afternoon. Carolyn was born on June 2, 1950, in Corsicana, Texas. The first of eight children born to Oneal Evans, Sr. and Ivory Mitchell. Carolyn was a caregiver from the start. Helping her siblings as the family grew and moved to Houston, Texas. Caregiver would be her calling. While attending Jack Yates High School, as a senior, she would be tasked again to care for her new born son in 1967. Carolyn would meet and marry, Richard A. Wallace, in 1969. Without hesitation the family moved as one unit. Carolyn began her profession as a Nurses Aid at Thomas Care Center in 1979 and continued on that path for the rest of her professional life. In the year of 1985, Carolyn would be called again to care for another son with open arms and a mother's love.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Oneal Evans Sr. and Ivory Mitchell; husband Richard A. Wallace; brothers: Oneal Evans, Jr., Michael Evans, Reginald Evans and sister Olivia Evans. Carolyn is now joined by her youngest brother Bernard L. Evans, who passed away shortly after. Rest in Peace Uncle Buck.
Carolyn is survived by her oldest son Eric D. Wallace and his children Brittany A. Wallace and Devin O. Wallace; by her youngest son Benjamin Evans and his children Jacob R. Evans and Bryson S. Evans; by her sisters Brenda Johnson and Veda Evans, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, September, 19, 2015 at the Bradshaw-Carter Home, 1734 West Alabama Street in Houston for a celebration of the life of Carolyn Wallace.
